Merry Christmas to the Toronto Maple Leafs and all their fans... Team Canada opens the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship tomorrow against Czechia.
Update: Unfortunately the tournament was canceled because of Covid. Canada had won their first 2 games, including one game, where 16 year old Connor Bedard scored 4 goals.
John Tavares played for Canada in the WJC Tournament in 2008 and 2009. Team Canada won the Gold Medal both years and in 2009, Tavares was named Tournament MVP after scoring 15 points in 6 games.
