Jan. 03... The Leafs were in New York to face the Islanders... New York opened the scoring 1:10 into the game, then Auston Matthews scored 2 goals to tie and pass Mats Sundin, as all-time franchise goal scorer with 421 goals... after New York tied it at two, Nick Robertson scored to put the Leafs up 3-2... the Islanders tied the game with less than 3 minutes to play in regulation and then won in overtime.

Jan. 01... The Leafs were home to face the Winnipeg Jets... Auston Matthews scored a hat trick, including the game winner, as Toronto came back from being down 4-1 and won the game 6-5.
Dec. 30... The Leafs were home to face New Jersey... Bobby McMann scored in the first, Nicolas Roy scored in the second... then Calle Jarnkrok and Matthew Knies scored in the third... Joseph Woll stopped all 33 New Jersey shots and Toronto won the game 4-0.
Dec. 28... The Leafs were in Detroit... Matthew Knies scored to open the scoring and Nick Robertson scored to give Toronto a 2-1 lead... John Tavares assisted on both goals, however, Detroit tied the game and then won in overtime.
