2018-19 Upper Deck Parkhurst Priority Signings John Tavares numbered 6/9

The 2026-27 season opened with some major roster changes for the Toronto Maple Leafs... obviously, it's the rookie year of first overall draft pick Gavin McKenna. We also added two time Vezina winner and two time Stanley Cup winning goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. Then, on the day before the season opened... Toronto traded Matthew Knies to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Kiril Marchenko. The Leafs immediately signed Marchenko to a six year $12.5 million dollar contract. Toronto also added Nick Paul, Jack Roslovic, Colton Sissons and Brandon Duhaime.

Here's how the first week went...

Sept. 29... Toronto opened the season at home against Montreal... William Nylander scored 48 seconds into the game and then Montreal scored 3 unanswered goals to lead 3-1. Nylander scored again with under 5 minutes to play, however, that was it and the Leafs lost the game 3-2

Sept. 30... Toronto was home to the New York Islanders in back to back games to open the season... Easton Cowan had 2 points with a goal and an assist. Anthony Stolarz stopped 26 of 27 shots and Toronto won the game 2-1

Oct. 03... Toronto was home to Ottawa... the Senators opened the scoring with 1:09 left in the first period. Then, Auston Matthews scored 33 seconds into the 2nd and Kirill Marchenko scored his first as a Maple Leaf to put Toronto up 2-1... unfortunately, Ottawa scored the last two goals and won the game 3-2
